Speaker, House of Representative, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has urged Christian youths travelling to Israel on pilgrimage to come back with the knowledge they are going to acquire from the skill acquisition programme that will be introduced to them in Israel to help themselves and the country.
Dogara stated this at the flag off ceremony organised in honour of Christian Youth Pilgrimage at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at the weekend.
He further advised the youths to go and learn what has made Israel a great nation in spite of the fact that it is a desert nation with little or no resources, adding that they should endeavour to study how they were able to transform their country into an agricultural nation.
“The expectation of government from the youths going on pilgrimage is to bring transformation and blessings through their experience from the Holy Land to Nigeria” he said.
Executive Secretary, Mr. John-Kennedy Opara, assured the youths that the commission has concluded all arrangements to ensure that the pilgrimage is hitch free.
Opara urged the youths to go with clear objective on what they want to achieve and how to transfer the knowledge for personal and national development.
He encouraged the pilgrims to conduct themselves and allow God to use them as agents of development so that they will return home and contribute to the development of the country.
Earlier, speaking in an interview with newsmen at Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja, Opara hinted that over 300 best medical personnel will be selected for 2015 Christian pilgrimage exercise.
