SENATOR representing Akwa Ibom
north-west in the red chambers,
and the former governor of Akwa
Ibom State, Senator Godswill Obot
Akpabio has urged Akwa Ibomites
not to allow themselves to be
distracted by the pronouncement
made by the court of Appeal advising
them to wait for court of justice
which comes from God Almighty.
Sen Akpabio stated this weekend
while giving his remarks yesterday
at the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol
festival in Uyo.
“Through your voices tonight,
you have brought victory to Akwa
Ibom State. I don’t want you to be
distracted by the pronouncement
of lower court, upper court or what
have you. The court that we need
to listen to and the one we need to
wait for is the court of justice, and it
comes from the God Almighty.
“Together in 2015 we came and
said we must do justice, and justice
means in 1999 we gave power to Uyo
Senatorial district. In 2007 we gave
power to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial
district. We said in 2015, power will
go to Eket Senatorial district.
“I want to reassure you that come
rain come sunshine your will shall be
done because the will of the people
continues to be the will of God.
“Udom Gabriel Emmanuel will
remain our governor beyond 2016.
The people have spoken” he said.
Akpabio while prophesying a
splendorous Christmas for the Akwa
ibomites, thanked the entire guest
who came in from all over the world
to worship God in the state further
said, that the Almighty God will
retain his candidacy of Governor
Udom noting that no card reader
can take away his votes.
The former governor, further
enjoined everyone to love one
another noting that Christmas is all
about love.
“Christmas is all about love that is
why God sent his son to come and
die for us. God is love.
“The message we should all take
from here is to love ourselves, our
brothers as ourselves. If we love one
another then we won’t be killing
“There’ll be nothing like Boko
Haram, militancy, killings and
vandalism that we see around. All
those things will be extinct, if we
love one another irrespective of our
ethnic group and religion.
“The world should be one, Nigeria
should be one just like Akwa Ibom is
one,” he said.
