THE OUTGOING Jigawa state
governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido
has denied an allegation
leveled against him that he
(Lamido) said that Christian
Association of Nigeria (CAN)
was part of the All Progressives
Congress (APC).
The governor denied the
allegation yesterday in a press
statement signed by his Chief
Press Secretary, Alhaji Umar
Kiyari in Dutse.
The statement said that one of the national dailies claimed
that one Diji Obadiah who is
the Kaduna state chairman of
Christian Youth Association
alleged that Governor Lamido

The statement further said
“this allegation is not true. It
was concocted by a nonentity

and credibility of the governor
who is a nationalist and who
respects and relates with any
person cordially irrespective of
that person’s religious, tribal or political leaning.
“The governor never made
such statement. My boss
is someone who is in good
relation with both Muslims
and Christians.
“I challenge Obadiah to tell
the world when, where and
at what forum the governor
made such statement. It is
unbecoming of a leader of a
religious body to lie, make
mischief and mislead people
on selfish and personal interest.
Obadiah should understand
that CAN is a religious
organization and not a
political party and as such
its members are in every
political party”.
Alhaji Umar Kiyari called
