Nigeria’s under-23 team goalkeeper coach, Alloy Agu has expressed confidence that his wards will claim Olympic qualification at the expense of Congo Brazzaville.
The Dream Team VI will be taking their slim 2-1 lead from the first fixture clash in Port Harcourt to Pointe-Noire for the decisive clash against the Central African side on Sunday.
Agu said his side understand quite well that the purpose for the clash is simply qualification for the African Under-23 Championship in Senegal.
“Qualification ticket is at stake in Congo and the players quite understand what the work description is.
“Good enough, we do not have injury worry at the moment so we will be fielding the very best against Congo.
“We are quite well in terms of preparation as nobody is under any illusion that the task in Congo will be an easy one.
“We believe we will get the desired result that will see us progress to the next stage of the qualification race,” said the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Nasarawa United, goalkeeper coach to
Winners of the two-legged encounter will claim the spot in the eight-nation Caf Under-23 Championship in Senegal.
The top three teams at the championship will automatically qualify for the men’s football event of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Dream Team VI did not qualify for the immediate past edition of the Games in London.
