Nigeria’s Super Eagles will this evening as from 5pm test might with the Pharaohs of Egypt when they lock horns during the first leg of 2017 Nations Cup qualifier at Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna.
Already both teams are in town perfecting tactics ahead of the crucial encounter which would be rounded off four days later in Alexandria, Egypt.
As it stands, the Egyptians are leading their group with two points gap adrift of Nigeria sitting second on the log.
But interim Head Coach Samson Siasia has remained optimistic that his lads are poised to grind out the needed result which could gift Nigeria with Africa Cup of Nations ticket the most populous African country missed out at 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea.
According to Siasia who is also in charge of Nigeria’s U-23 team; “We have done what we need to do and with the way the spirit has been since all invited players arrived and began training for our match against Egypt, I strongly believe that victory will come.
“There is need for anyone to panic. All we need right now is the support of all Nigerians. The stadium needs to be filled to capacity so that the fans will cheer their team. We have worked hard enough since we resumed.”
On his part, Turkey-based Aminu Umar is of the opinion that his teammates are battle ready and motivated to get maximum point before heading to Alexandria for the second leg clash next week Tuesday.
“On our own part hardwork and humility are key to what we want to achieve in this encounter. From my heart, I’m prepared to give my best once I’m called upon to play,” He added
