Founder and Primate of the Jerusalem Church of the Lord
International, AdoEkiti, Most Rev. Dr.  OlufunkeBabayemi,  has
predicted that Nigeria will get out of the present economic situation
stronger, if  Nigerians  can embrace honesty in their lifestyles.

Babayemi, who noted that the economic crises being experienced in the country was due to pervasive  corruption in the system and outright lost of  social values, saying God is ready to return the nation to the path of sufficiency  if our  leaders can be truthful .

On the 20th anniversary of the creation of Ekiti State, coming on
October 1, the cleric tasked the Ekiti State government to provide
jobs for unemployed youths, describing this as the best way to promote education, the only thriving industry in the state.

The primate, Dr. Mrs. Babayemi, who spoke in Ado Ekiti yesterday at the church headquarters during a press conference commemorating the 30th anniversary of the commencement of her church.

She advised Nigerian leaders to  shun materialism and corruption and to lead  the people with the fear of God,  the way she did when she took up the work of God 45 years  ago by not fraternizing with any occult group.

The Clergywoman said her church has established a Nursery and Primary school and a maternity home, as a way of diversifying into other sectors to help the poor in the society.

The Cleric said: “If you go abroad, you will know that Nigerians are
really suffering. This is a country where those that are educated are not being employed and that is why we have crimes everywhere.

“I am very confident that things will change for better but nobody
knows the time. We have oil in Nigeria, but our leaders are so corrupt it makes it difficult for our people to get fuel at affordable price.
It is only God that can help because our leaders had failed us. They have forgotten God and doing what they like.

“Let me say any country that forgets   God and worships idols will
suffer the way things are in Nigeria. President, Governors,
Commissioners and other leaders have lost values and taking into
criminality and no nation can grow under this context”.

On the crisis of confidence rocking the Christians Association of
Nigeria, CAN, the Cleric urged the members to operate  in line with the commandment of God and stop meddling in politics in a manner that can taint the Christendom.

“CAN is  a religious organization, I find it so worrisome that we can
be involving in politics or promoting sectionalism and getting
involving in corrupt practices. Our conducts and manners must align with the Holy Bible. A man of God should not behave like those in the world, CAN leadership must be conscious of this and look for how to reform the association because God is coming to reward us according to our deeds”, she warned.
