Education gets lion share in Bauchi’s 2015 budget

Following the presentation of 2015 budget proposal to the members of the Bauchi state House of Assembly by Governor Isa Yuguda, Education sector gets the lion share of the budget as was allocated the sum of N24, 070,037,330 which represent 18.8 per cent.
According to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget, Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Ibrahim while briefing newsmen yesterday at the Government House, Bauchi, he said Health sector will get N11, 587,863, 116 that represent 9.1 per cent while Power sector that was allocated the highest share during last year’s budget will now get N7,760,770,648 which is 6.1 per cent.
He explained that Water sector has been allocated the sum of N5,663,330,072 during the next year’s budget, which is about 4.5% while Agriculture and Youth Development will get N5,119,329,771 and N4,293,090,461 that represent 4 per cent and 3.6 per cent respectively.
Alhaji Muhammad Aminu pointed out that the sum of N3, 352,736,136 which is 2.6 per cent of the 2015 budget was allocated to the Rural Development in the next year’s budget.
He stated that the present administration in the past seven and a half years has done a lot across all sectors of the economy, with specific reference to Health, Education, Water Supply, Transport, Agriculture, Human Capital development and infrastructures, which has greatly improved social development in the state.
