To ensure a hitch-free eid-el-kabir celebration in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa has ordered watertight security in and around the seat of power.
Consequently, the CP has ordered massive deployment of plain-cloth and uniformed Police operatives around praying grounds, shopping malls, gardens, recreational spots, critical infrastructures, motor parks and other areas that will be a beehive of activities while the event is being commemorated.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Anjuguri Manzah said in a statement yesterday that the arrangement also includes the strategic deployment of personnel on foot and motorised patrols along all streets and major roads across FCT.
He said CP Mustafa gave the directive at the Command Headquarters during the Command strategic operational meeting which was attended by Heads of Department, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers attached to the Command.
The statement said, while felicitating with all Muslim faithful in FCT, the Police chief advised worshippers to guard against carrying bags and baggage to prayer grounds.
