Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, EKSUTH said it will conduct mass burial for all unclaimed corpses in the hospital.
The Chief Medical Director, CMD, of EKSUTH, Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe, yesterday gave a one week ultimatum within which such corpses must be removed to avoid the impending mass burial.
Dr. Ogundipe, however condemned the rising cases of abandoned corpses in its morgue of the institution.
The CMD in a statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday said families of many of the corpses have refused to claim them for a very long time.
According to him, such unclaimed bodies were fast becoming something else to the hospital and had occupied virtually all the few available space in the mortuary.
He noted that such mass burial would help decongest the mortuary and allow for sanity in the environment.
