El Kanemi Warriors chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Zannah has said that the club will play some friendly matches in Cameroon in preparation for the Nigeria Professional Football League season which starts on February 21.
Alhaji Zannah hailed the Borno government for the recent release of funds which have been used to offset entitlements of players, coaches and other officials with the team last season, adding that El Kanemi will make the investment count next season when the league season commences.
“We are going to Cameroun for the next phase of our preparation,” Zannah told Goal.
“We want our players to be ready mentally and physically for the new season and we have scheduled some games with some clubs over there. We will from there proceed to Katsina for the final closed camping.
“We don’t want to leave any stone unturned in the coming season and we are doing our best to get the best of preparation. We are looking at some players, especially those ones training with us and before the trip to Cameroun we would have streamlined those going with us,” he concluded.
El Kanemi finished 13th in the premier league last season with 49 points from 38 matches.
