Two more local government transition committee chairmen have been fired by Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State for allegedly losing the election.
Nigerian Pilot reports that Governor Theodore Orji recently removed four local government chairmen, for their inability to allegedly rig the March 28, 2015 Presidential and National Assembly polls in their areas in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The affected Transition Committee Chairmen were Deacon Iyke Onwukwe, Umuahia North, his Umuahia South counterpart, Chief Charles Ekwueme, Dr. Christian Okoli, Aba South and Prince Dan Kanu, Aba North.
Although, the state government did not give reason for their removal, but it was alleged that they were appointed some months ago to ensure victory for the PDP during the polls, they were sacked because they may not have lived up to that expectation.
Unfortunately, however, two weeks after sacking the four LG transition chairmen, Dom Onwuzurigbo of Ikwuano and Emenike Onuoha of Aba South local government areas were yesterday sacked.
Though no reason was given for their sack, it is widely believed that it is the penalty for failing to play the thug in the local government areas which gave APGA victory during the April 11 guber election.
Curiously, after replacing the Aba South chairman in the aftermath of the presidential and national assembly elections, PDP still lost the local government to APGA.
The sack is believed to be part of the preparation of the PDP for the rerun slated for Saturday April 25in the state.
