Chairman, Cassava Growers Association in Osun State, Dr. David Ogunsade has called on the entire farmers to adopt new farming techniques to boost food production and make the sector more commercially vibrant to aid the nation economy.
Ogunsade, who stated this in Osogbo during a chat with our Correspondent, emphasised that agriculture remained the major sector of economy that could rescue the nation from its current financial crisis.
The agricultural expert who commended efforts of the National President of the association, Pastor Segun Adewumi in transforming and uplifting Cassava Growers Association nationwide, called on all members to continue to support his leadership for the betterment of all and sundry.
While emphasizing the need for government to invest heavily in agricultural sector, Ogunsade said the sector would serve as a viable source of employment and revenue generation.
The agricultural expert decried the attitude of some Nigerians to farming, submitting that agriculture was mainstay of the nation’s economy before the discovery of oil in the country.
He lauded Osun state government for its commitment and dedication to agricultural revolution through its O’Reap programme.
