Minister of State for Environment, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril has joined other eminent Nigerians to mourn the late Emir of Keffi in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammadu Chindo-Yamusa, who passed on after a brief illness, saying Nigeria had lost a peace ambassador.
Alhaji Jibril recalled that the late monarch served his people with great dedication and love, describing him as a leader who helped lay foundation of peace for the country.
Jibril added that his visionary and passionate contributions to lofty ideas for the peace of this country would greatly be missed.
Besides, he urged the people not to limit their tributes to just lofty eulogies, but instead commit themselves to carrying out his vision of peace and peaceful co-existence.
“As Emir of Keffi, he championed the cause of peace and support for the Buhari administration with passion, rallying the people to support the government to enshrine change,” he said.
The minister noted that the Emir was a leader who truly understood the great responsibility that history thrust upon him; a leader who stood on the path of truth, who would never relinquish his responsibility to represent the genuine intends of his subjects.
He therefore said that the Emir would be remembered for the enormous contributions he made to the attainment of sustainable peace in Nasarawa in particular and Nigeria in general.
