Abuja hit musician, Emperor Ephizee popularly known as Emperor has premiered the video of his new single, Joana. Joana is an electrical dancehall club banger.
The movie premiere which took place in Abuja earlier in the week featured top musical icons in Abuja music industry and other hit entertainers such as Oche the King, Jo El, Short cut amongst others.
Emperor who has been in the industry for 8 years said Joana is a love song with no sexually provocative feature being displayed. Since it is release, it has been gaining rave reviews on the airwaves.
“I got the inspiration for the song while I was in the studio with my producer, Danny Cool. It is a name of a fictional lady.”
The artiste explained that Nigerian music is making waves globally.
“Nigerian music has gone viral. I was in United Kingdom recently and many people there prefer to go to Nigerian clubs.”
On what he thinks about piracy in the music industry in Nigeria, Emperor said piracy is wrecking the works of artistes in Nigeria as the artistes work hard but earn little for their efforts.
Emperor stated that his major challenge has been that with record labels who hardly respect the terms of agreement properly and artistes who fail to read through their agreements before signing.
“My major challenge has been about record labels. A record label just signs you as artistes and at the end of the day they fail to give you what is expected. At times most artistes jump into signing contracts with producers without actually reading through to know the details.”
Emperor Ephizee is one of the winner of face of hope ‘I’ve got talent show’organized by Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus. He recently dropped a hit single with the popular afro singer W4 titled “YOU BAD “ and another hot single, “She Dey Dance “featuring one of Nigeria’s fast rising artist “Tekno”, the song also produced by Tekno.
