Tunisian club Esperance have signed Flying Eagles forward Bernard Bulbwa on a four-year contract.
According to Esperance-de-tunis.net website, Bulbwa will join Esperance in June after negotiations between his agent and the Tunisian club’s sporting director.
Bulbwa hit the headlines when his wonder goal handed Nigeria a seventh African Youth Championship at the expense of hosts Senegal last month.
The 18-year-old player of Shuttle Sports Academy Lagos won the Goal of the Tournament courtesy of that first-half winner against Senegal.
His super strike won him many admirers including several clubs in France, Norway and Spain.
Amid speculations about the next destination of several Flying Eagles stars, Bulbwa is the first to move overseas from the 2015 AYC.
He is a right-sided winger, who has a good balance, dribbles well and weighs in with his fair share of goals.
His showing at the AYC has also earned him a call-up to the Nigeria U23 team. He is the only Flying Eagles invitee yet to join the U23s training camp in Abuja.
Bulbwa will now link up with another former Nigeria U20 star, Emem Eduok, who joined the Tunisian giants from Dolphins.
The former Nigeria U-17 star has increased a legion of Nigeria stars who have featured for Esperance on their way to Europe – Garba Lawal, Julius Aghahowa, Michael Eneramo, Gabriel Okolosi and Obinna Nwaneri.
