A pro Buhari and former militant leader, Israel Akpodoro, has called on the All Progressives Congress,APC, led federal government to as a matter of urgency establish the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, to complement the military operations in the Niger Delta region.

Akpodoro stated this on Wednesday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital during an enlarged and well attended meeting with his teaming followers who were drawn from the states of the Niger Delta stressing that there was need for the youth in the region to close ranks, work with the security apparatus as deployed in the Delta for a safer and better region.

He stated that when established, the CJTF would aid the military in intelligence gathering by giving concise and accurate information to the military to enable them rid the region of criminal elements adding the continued vandalism of oil and gas pipelines in the region by those he called few criminal elements was an indictment on the entire youth population in the Delta.
The Urhobo-born ex-warlord who doubles as the National President of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A, noted that until the FG co-opts the youth into the security network in the region the military will find it difficult to record early success against the economc saboteurs and sponsors who he said gloat over the downturn in the nation’s economy.

Additionally, the vociferous ex-agitator urge the FG to award pipeline security to local saying community based security network to secure the oil facilities should be considered an imperative citing the success of the military operations in Nigeria’s north east against the “rag-tag” Boko Haram when CJTF was established to complement the efforts of the army.

According to him: “Having worked closely with the military in the Delta to stem the tide of militancy and sundry crimes, I have come to the conclusion that until this government put in place CJTF, we would hardly achieve success in the war against the militants.

“Its crystal clear that for pipelines in Ikot, Kwale, Okrika, urhiboland… to be secured, a community based security system complementing the efforts of the conventional security apparatus would have to be in place. The moment a pipeline is blown up in an area, the youth of that connunity with mathematical exactitude will tell those involved. I suggest the FG creates this body to enhance security of life abd property.” Akpodoro stated as he called on the youth of the region to shun any act capable of bringing hardship to the inhabitants and envirinment of the region.
