PRESIDENT of Urhobo Youths in Europe Forum, Comrade Emmanuel Ogheneruemu Sakpakpa has stated that the Urhobo people would only vote for a party that will bring the needed dividends of democracy to them.
Sakpakpa who made this known in a statement, yesterday, also commended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege over his promise of the take off of the Okwagbe Seaport project in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta state.
Sakpakpa in the statement, urged Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to keep to his promise of bringing foreign partners to finance the seaport project in ensuring that it becomes operational in no distance time.
According to Sakpakpa, “the gesture of the Senator is a very good one but he must setup monitoring team to ensure that once the project kicks start, there will be no break or abandonment before its completion because the seaport when completed will surely affect the economy of Okwagbe and its neighbouring communities”.
Sakpakpa pointed out that completion of the seaport project is fulfillment of some of the Senator’s electoral promises to the people of Okwagbe community and Ughelli South Local Government Area in general during the 2015 election campaigns.
He explained that the seaport project would attract development that can create jobs to the teaming unemployed youths, and also generate economic activities that will transform the Urhoboland.
Sakpakpa, an indigene of Okwagbe community, while assuring Senator Omo-Agege of the full co-operation of community leaders and youths in the area with the potential investors, noted that major projects initiated and completed in Urhobo land by the leading political parties in Delta state will determine the party the Urhobo people will vote for come 2019.
