Chairman, Police Service Commission, PSC, and former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro, has charged the newly-promoted Assistant Inspectors General of police, AIGs and commissioners of police, CPs to take the welfare of their officers seriously.
Okiro, who gave the advice at the decoration of the 22 AIGs and 29 commissioners of police in Abuja yesterday, reminded them about the task ahead of them, urging them to place the interest of the country first in everything they would do.
The ex-police chief also advised them to always prioritise the issue of housing for officers and men of the force.
Responding on behalf of the officers, AIG in charge of Zone 4, Makurdi, AIG Agboola Glover, promised 100 per cent support for the force management.
He said, “We are going to be very supportive of this administration. We will give our 100 per cent support to the administration.
He thanked the Inspector-General of Police for finding them worthy for the promotion.
