Former political functionaries at the grassroots across the 33 local government areas of Oyo state numbering over 1000 yesterday endorsed the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan with a vow to vote for him en masse during the March 28 presidential polls.
The functionaries who staged a road show round major streets in Ibadan after which they stormed the PDP Presidential campaign office in Adamasingba, said they were fully convinced that the re-election of President Jonathan would bring greater development and peace to Nigeria.
Led by Mr. JimohAdedigba, the ex functionaries stated that they were particularly impressed with the great achievements of President Jonathan in agriculture which have transformed lives of farmers and peasants in the rural areas.
The functionaries made up of former councilors, supervisors, secretaries, chiefs of staff, vice-chairmen and chairmen were received by directors, contact, mobilization, media and publicity, Engineer Femi Babalola and Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan at the President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign office in Ibadan, the state capital.
Adedigba also praised President Jonathan for the resuscitation of the railways, establishment of more universities to ensure educational right of all Nigerian youths, construction and rehabilitation of numerous roads across the six-geo political zones in the country.
Adedigba said it is very crucial for Nigerians to give their support for the re-election of President Jonathan so that he could complement on his giant strides on both human and infrastructural development of all Nigerians.
