Barely two weeks to the inauguration of a new government at federal and state levels in Nigeria, former Chairman, Petrol Station Workers, NUPENG, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Conrade Aminu Hussaini has called for improved welfare for their workers.
Hussani, in a chat with Nigerian Pilot, lamented that despite the tremendous contributions of workers towards the nation’s development, it was regrettable that ‘‘they are poorly remunerated.’’
He noted that, ‘‘if incoming government at both federal and state levels tackle the issue of under-payment of workers, it will invariably lead to improve productive capable of rescuing the country from the effects dwindling revenue.’’
The former union leader also hailed the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega for conducting credible general elections that ‘‘have proven skeptics wrong and made Nigeria a shining example for other nations to copy.’’
