AS A RESULT of the controversy trailing the ambassadorial list recently sent by President Muhammadu Buhari to the upper legislative chamber for approval, members of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and representatives of the executive will meet today in Abuja. They are expected to consider the plethora of petitions from some states and individuals over alleged irregularities in the list. The lawmakers, according to information from the committee, will meet with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, David Babachir Lawal, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, at Room 208 of the Senate building beginning from 9am. Two members of the committee, Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe and Sonni Ogbuoji confirmed to our correspondent that the minister would appear before the lawmakers tomorrow but could not establish whether the SGF would also be in the meeting.
