A faction of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, on Sunday condemned the arrest of the Biafra Radio Director, Nnadi Kanu.
The group is threatening nationwide demonstration if he is not released saying that such arrest was capable of causing more diplomatic harm on Nigeria’s image.
Kanu was reportedly arrested by DSS on Saturday in Lagos after three days of his return from his overseas trip.
MASSOB in a statement by its Director of Information, Uchenna Madu who said the arrest will shape the minds of Kanu as well as draw sympathy from internal and external observers.
He however, said the arrest and detention of Nnamdi Kanu will assist immensely in reviving the consciousness and sympathy for Biafra’s actualization in higher dimension.
“Before Kanu’s arrest, he has succeeded in rooting the Biafra struggle in about 78 countries including Biafra land”.
He accused the movement’s factional leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike of masterminding the arrest.
The faction warned the federal government to immediately release the radio Director or face worldwide demonstration.
