Chairman , Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, and National President Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Honourable Micah Jiba has called on the grass root to assess his service and make their contributions and suggestions where necessary.
Jiba made the call yesterday in Abuja at the AMAC town hall meeting held in New Garki, Apo in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja with the stakeholder, residents of the area council.
The AMAC boss who described his five years in the office as a selfless service, noting that it has been wonderful and marvelous as the people were happy and had given him maximum cooperation.
“I believe that the people am representing in AMAC are happy of having somebody like me because the maximum cooperation and understanding they have been giving me right from year one 2010 till now. We have never for any day has exchange of words with anybody and the people at the grass root.
“So I want to say that am doing very well and they are happy that is why I am opportune to see myself in this particular manner, smiling here and there, thanking my God with the way my people are carrying me along and at the same way I carry them along,” said Jiba
He further explained that very soon he will have a successor that will take over from where he stopped and also take the people to the level where he could not reach, praying that God should give them a good person as his successor.
“My advice to my successor is that power comes from God. I believe so soon and by the grace of God we are going to have someone that will succeed me, I don’t know the person but I know that God knows the person. The only thing we should pray is that God should give us someone that will represent us very well,” he said
He therefore appreciated the people for being there for him, adding that without their supports and immensely contributions his office would not come this far.
