Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Alhaji Mohammed Bello has expressed willingness to work with the media to achieve the desired goals of this administration.
He stated this yesterday in Abuja during an interactive session with members of the FCT Press Corps, where he also appointed the chairman of the press corps, Abubakar Sani, as his special assistant on media.
In his address, the minister emphasised the importance of the press as an integral part of his administration.
“This meeting is necessary to know the people who will project the activities of this administration. I am here to appeal for your friendship, cooperation and support.”
Alhaji Bello said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was committed to better the lives of all Nigerians through good governance.
“This administration came on board of desire from Nigerians to have a change in government. If we change our attitude in the way we do things, it will be better for us all. We are all here to work as a team for people to be better off.”
In his remarks, the permanent secretary for the FCT, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye thanked members of the press corps for tilting towards developmental journalism which he said was a step in the right direction in fighting for common good.
For his part, the newly appointed special assistant on media, Abubakar Sani said the media impacts collectively on the way government is run, as he urged members of the FCT Press Corps to nurture and sustain this rare privilege.
