Discussions on how to end the current fuel scarcity continued between the Federal Government and oil stakeholders yesterday.
Although conclusions were not reached as at press time, speculations were rife that the strike which is strangulating activities in the country would end today.
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC source disclosed that contentious issues among the parties were at the verge of being resolved. Although the meeting continued until late night yesterday, indications showed that the stakeholders were interested in ending the scarcity in order to stem the suffering the industrial action has subjected Nigerians to in recent times.
It would be recalled that National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG and Petroleum Tankers Driver PTD, an affiliate of NUPENG, had mobilized their members for industrial action last week. It was reported that major Airways schedules in the country were stopped because of the fuel scarcity.
