Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has assured Nigerians that the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast region and some other northern states would soon be over.

The statement made by Professor Osinbajo on Sunday in Lagos State, is in line with the Federal Government’s effort to end the insurgency in affected parts of the country.

From his analysis, the Vice President insisted that the current trend of suicide bombing clearly showed that the insurgents were frustrated.

He expressed hope that Nigeria would continue to win the war, stressing that the activities of the dreaded Islamist militants would be history in a short while from now.

The terrorists killed at least five persons in another suicide bomb attack on a Police checkpoint in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State on Monday.

The suicide bombers were said to have detonated Improvised Explosive Devices in a Highlander jeep at the checkpoint.
