Office of the Department of
Petroleum Resources, DPR, in Niger
State was on Monday afternoon
gutted by fire.
The State DPR Comptroller,
Engineer Abdullahi Isa Jankara, said
the inferno started as a result of an
electrical fault from the inverter.

all our electrical appliances so that in
case of another fire outbreak it will
not affect any office though we don’t
pray for it”.
On whether any foul play or
sabotage was suspected in view
of the current critical situation
involving oil marketers and his office,
Jankara ruled out such dangerous
insinuation, saying the fire outbreak
was a mere coincidence.
He commended the efforts of
the local government and state fire
service for their prompt action in
putting out the fire.
