The popular Sabon-Gari market in Kano has again been
gutted by fire
A similar incidence occurred a few months ago, in which properties worth millions were destroyed.
According to eyewitness, the fire started at the France roads section of the market where furniture and other household items are being sold.
The fire reportedly began on Friday night, July 22 and could not be put off even as at the middle of the noon of Saturday.
Security agents including the army, civil defence and vigilante were deployed to the market while fire-fighters and market owners tried to put off the fire all in vain..
The incident is similar to the one that occurred in the same market as both started at night when traders had closed.
About 5000 shops were destroyed in the fire while goods worth millions of naira were consumed in the inferno.
