- Operatives lay siege at airport
In what may seem as return from self exile, former Governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Nyako(retd.), is set to return home.
This paper gathered authoritatively that Nyako will be jetting into the country in the early hours of today (Sunday morning) to the waiting hands of operatives of the economic and financial crime commission, EFCC, who had long declared him wanted over financial crimes.
Officials of the anti-graft agency have lay siege at the international wing of Abuja Airport.
A highly placed source at the commission told our correspondent that the operatives of the EFCC would pick him up immediately he arrives.
According to the source, Nyako will be taking straight to EFCC facility in Abuja for further interrogation and questioning.
The embattled governor will be arriving from London via Lufthansa Airline flight to Abuja.
One of his political aides, who spoke with the Nigerian Pilot Sunday on condition of anonymity, said his principal decided to return to Nigeria following the inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari as the President.
Nyako fled the country following his controversial impeachment by the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
His impeachment, which is still a dispute in court is said to have been as a result of a disagreement with former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Nyako was one of the five governors that defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress at the height of the PDP crisis.
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission declared the former governor wanted over allegation of financial crimes.
