Four persons escaped death but were seriously injured when a building collapsed in Lagos yesterday.
The building came down following an explosion suspected from a gas cooker.
According to reports the occupants of the building were trapped in the resultant rubble.
The explosion occurred at about 7: 15 am yesterday morning on a building located in HFB way, No 19B Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi.
Nigerian Pilot Sunday gathered that 3 persons were inside the building when it went down and the fourth person, a driver was outside washing a car when the incident happened.
Eyewitnesses said the explosion was terrifying as the neighbourhood shook following the noise from collapsed building
A team of Police anti bomb squad and Police disaster management unit cordoned off the area while investigating the cause of the blast.
Reports from the National Emergency Management Agency said there was no casualty as the 4 injured occupants of the building were evacuated to St. Maria Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
It however said that Lagos state building control agency will move in after the police must have finished doing their work to determine the next line of action.
