Cinema chiefs have banned an advertisement featuring a Nativity scene with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus from Christmas week shows because it is ‘too religious’.
This follows a decision last month to prevent an advertisement featuring the Lord’s Prayer being broadcast in advance of Star Wars.
The Christmas Starts with Christ campaign had attempted to book space from Digital Cinema Media towards the middle of December to highlight the role of Jesus in the holiday.
