FACTION of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, in
Ogun State has described
new fuel price regime as
insencitive and not good
for Nigeria.
In a statement signed
by its factional Publicity
Secretary, Malik Ibitoye,
the party said the
government of the All
Progressives Congress,
APC, has continued to
show arbitrariness in antipeople
The party described as
unthinkable, the decision
of the government to
deregulate the sector at a
time when the country is
going through economic
hardship, especially on oil.
The party said it was not
surprised at the manner
with which the price of
the product was hiked,
adding that the decision
has further demonstrated
what PDP said during the
electioneering campaign.
It said the federal
government, under
President Buhari, has
succumbed so cheaply to
pressure from oil magnates
in the country, adding that
it is beginning to doubt
the ability of the president
to rescue the nation from
“With what the APC
government has done, we
only pray that Nigerians
would not be pushed to
the precipice as it appears
that we have indeed
boarded a one chance
bus with this apparently
insensitive government,”
the statement further read
