Management of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, has approved a two-week mid-semester break for all students of the institution, ordering all the students to vacate the two campuses latest by 4pm on Thursday.
The order came as a result of a violent riot embarked on students of the institution on Wednesday, which led to the destruction of school properties.
According to a student of the institution the riot was caused by the death a student whom the students believe the school management failed to take adequate care of during his illness.
“The student was sick and was taken to the school clinic; no quick attention given to the student. Instead of the staff to attend to the student on time they neglects him there,” our source said.
Meanwhile, academic activities are expected to resume in the university on Thursday March 2, 2017.
