European super powers Germany on Thursday threw their weight behind the current International Monetary Fund Managing Director, Christine Largarde for further term in office at the IMF highest position.

This was revealed through a statement released on the website of the German Ministry of Finance;

“Germany welcomes the renewed candidacy of Christine Lagarde for a further term as Executive Director of the IMF. Ms. Lagarde was in the difficult times after the financial crisis a prudent and successful crisis manager, who has contributed significantly to the high reputation of the IMF. At the same time it has managed to bring together the interests of the shareholders and to increase the efficiency of the IMF on. ”

It will be recalled Ms. Lagarde, who is French lawyer and politician has been the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund since 5 July 2011.
