Enyimba maintained their leadership of the Nigeria league table after they played out a 2-2 draw at Akwa United in a Week 21 game in Uyo yesterday.
Enyimba lead with 38 points from 21 games, while closest rivals Sunshine Stars will only play against Sharks in Akure today.
Warri Wolves FC shot to second place in the Nigeria league after they thrashed FC IfeanyiUbah 3-0 in a Week 21 game with Gbolahan Salami netting twice on return from suspension. Wolves now have 36 points from 21 games, two points behind leaders Enyimba.
Hosts Akwa United started on a good note when Aniekpeno Udoh leapt highest to head his team in front in the third minute.

Aniekan Ekpe restored Akwa United’s lead from the penalty spot in the 57th minute after Enyimba captain Chinedu Udoji was penalised for bringing down Aniekpeno Udoh.
In the 63rd minute, debutant Alloy Browne, who replaced Najere at the beginning of the second half, restored parity for Enyimba to make it 2-2.
Ten minutes to the end of the game, Akwa goalkeeper Olufemi Kayode denied Ezekiel Bassey from point-blank range before Harrison cleared the danger.
In Kano, champions Kano Pillars fought from a goal down to beat hard-fighting Heartland 2-1 in a Week 21 game in Kano.
