Golden Eaglets training camp earlier fixed to open on May 8 will now begin on May 28 also in Abuja.
Nigerian Pilot Sports gathered that the delay in opening the training camping is due to the cash crunch facing the Nigeria Football federation, NFF.
There are strong indication that the camping will begin with an open screening exercise of eligible players and coach Manu Garba has also selected a set of youngsters from various scouting missions across the country recently.
The reigning U17 world champions are due to begin the qualifiers for the 2017 U17 AFCON in August against Niger.
Nigeria is the FIFA World U17 defending champion and coach Garba who led the team to the record in 2015 is expected to producing a strong and formidable squad that would be able to qualify from the African continent for the world cup next year
Nigeria have won the FIFA U17 World Cup a record five times in 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013 and 2015.
