A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nasarawa State, Mr. Jacob Achagh has described the state governor, Umarun Tanko Al-Makura, as a messiah sent by God to salvage the people of the state from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment.
Achagh, who is also the assistant treasurer of the APC in the state, made the assertion while speaking in an exclusive interview with Nigerian Pilot in Lafia at the weekend.
He pointed out that the governor had distinguished himself in the task of governance through the provision of massive infrastructures across the nooks and crannies of the state, noting that the successes recorded by the present administration spoke volume about the direction and focus of the government.
“The governor has been able to deliver on his mandate by ensuring that development gets to every nook and cranny of the state within just about five years. This is what his predecessors could not achieve in eight years.”
The APC chieftain observed that Lafia, the state capital, which was often described as a glorified headquarters of a local government by critics, had now been transformed into the status of a real state capital with modern facilities spread across the metropolis.
He asserted that the success story of the present administration in the state was as a result of prudent management of resources, accountability and zero tolerance for corruption adopted by Governor Al-Makura in running the affairs of the state, adding that all that the governor needed to provide more dividends of democracy was the maximum support and cooperation of the people.
On the proposed airport project by the state government, Achagh observed that the project was a welcome development, as it would boost economic activities and create employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths in the state, and urged the governor not to relent in ensuring a better living condition for the people of the state.
