Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura on Friday paid the sum of N700, 000 hospital bill for two cancer patients.
Gov Al-Makura who was represented by his Special Assistant ( Media and Publicity ) , Ahmed Tukur paid the sum 400 thousand hospital bill of two year old girl Doowuese Tyengo at Benue State University Teaching Hospital who has tumor of the eye before she was diagnosed of cancer.
Al-Makura said he was touched by the plight of the little girl when he saw her picture and decided to upset the hospital bill.
Pastor Terlumun Vaatia who received the money on behalf of the parents thanked the governor and prayed God to reward him abundantly.
Doowuese and her parents are from Vandakiya and peasant farmers.
In the same vein Al-Makura also paid the sum of 300 thousand Naira hospital bill for one Rukaiya Mohammed whose one leg was amputated and needed the money to under operation in ABU teaching hospital Zaria to avoid the loss of the other leg.
Al-Makura who heard the announcement soliciting for assistant to undergo operation decided to pay the bill.
Al-Makura who was also represented by his media aide Ahmed Tukur urged well to do individuals in the society to always assist the needy.
The money which was received by the director news NBS Aloko flash-man where announcement was made for the assistance thank the governor for the gesture.
