Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura yesterday swore in the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Suleiman Umaru Azores, and Head of Service, Joseph Ancho, with a call on them to eschew and expose corruption in all ramifications.
Al-Makura, who administered the oath of allegiance on the new appointees, said that their appointment was based on merit, stressing that his administration was committed to entrusting only people with untainted integrity, in line with the ideals of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
“Gone are the days where appointments were based on political party affiliation. Let me state categorically clear that the benchmark for appointment into my government is not the political party one belongs to, because we are one people with one destiny.”
He challenged the new SSG and the HoS to see their appointment as a call to service to the government and people of the state, calling on all and sundry to accord them the desired cooperation to enable them deliver on their mandate.
The governor further called on the people of the state to shun retrogressive tendencies being canvassed by some individuals on the social media as such tendencies were capable of bringing the state down.
