Mrs Ibim Semenitari, the Commissioner for Information and Communications in Rivers, has debunked rumours that Gov. Chibuike Amaechi and the Speaker of the state legislature were involved in a road accident.

Semenitari told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Port Harcourt that government had received the rumours that Amaechi and the speaker Mr Otelebe Amachree, were involved in a `ghastly road accident.’

“I don’t know where the rumours are coming from. Gov Amaechi has been in government house Port Harcourt, attending to his duties as governor of Rivers state.

“Nothing has happened to Gov. Amaechi.

“Gov. Amaechi is not involved in a motor accident and the speaker is busy in his local government area campaigning.

“Nothing could be further from the truth and we use this opportunity to ask mischief makers to desist from such rumours,’’ Semenitari said. (NAN)
