Married couples have been advised to uphold the ordinance guiding the union, as the institution was ordained by God for companionship and procreation.
Akwa Ibom State governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel gave the advice at the wedding of former Miss Mercy Ayanam, daughter of the chief secretary, Salvation Army Corps, Nigerian Territory, Lt. Col. Friday Ayanam, and Engr. Ubong Obot, son of the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Elizabeth Obot, at Salvation Army Corps, Udotung Ubo Street in uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital.
He charged the parents not to interfere in the affairs of the couple but allow them make mistakes and come out of it, stressing that no two marriages were the same, he also advised the couple to value the union and avoid third party in their affairs.
Governor Emmanuel, while congratulating the couple, described the marriage as unique, being the first marriage contracted by the child of his cabinet member.
Emmanuel thanked the church for the support given his administration through prayers, assuring that the economy would bounce back.
In his homily, the territorial commander, Nigeria Territory of the Salvation Army Corps, Colonel Victor Leslie emphasised that successful matrimony was founded on love, explaining that love required loyalty and exhibition of all round affection without a tingle of pretence.
