Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose would today swear-in the members of the caretaker committees in the 16 local government areas of the State.
The names of those that would constitute the local government transition committee have been compiled and announced by the State government.
The reconstitution showed that virtually all the members were returned with the exception of the former caretaker Chairman in Oye local government, who was dropped and replaced with Mr. Oluwole Paul.
The newly inaugurated House of Assembly, had on Friday performed its first legislative duty by acceding to Fayose’s request to dissolve the council, having spanned the mandatory six months as stipulated by the constitution.
A letter dated June 5 and addressed to the Speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole asked for the Assembly’s nod for the reconstitution of the caretaker committees in consonance with the State, Local Government Transition law no 4 of 2002.
The letter was read on the floor of the House by the Leader of Government Business, Hon Olatunji Akinyele and was unanimous voted for when put to vote by the speaker.
