Gov Ikpeazu inaugurates On-going Projects Evaluating Committee

A committee for all on-going projects embarked upon by the government of Dr Okezie IKpeazu from May 29th 2015 till date has been inaugurated in Abia, with a three weeks deadline to submit their reports.
The 6-man committee was inaugurated at the Government House Umuahia by Governor Okezie IKpeazu with a charge to properly articulate all on-going projects in Abia state and advice government on how to complete them.

The deputy Governor, Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, represented the Governor during the inauguration ceremony.

The six man committee is made up the State Commissioners for Works, Chief Ezichi Ubani as Chairman; Information Commissioner, Chief John Okeiyi Kalu;
Dr Aham Uko, Environment Commissioner; Mr Obinna Oriaku, Finance Commissioner; Principal Secretary to the Governor, Engineer Emma Nwabuko and the former
Special Adviser to the governor on Investments Chief Chineye Nwogu as members.

Governor Ikpeazu, who described the provision of basic infrastructure as provision of road network especially in Aba as necessary for theeconomic development of the city, disclosed that the Work and Evaluation committee would also look into some moribund companies in Aba, especially the Shoe Industry the State.

“Your job is to monitor and evaluate ongoing project but there are specific roads for the committee to look into that include Ururuka Road Osusu Road, Eziukwu road, Obiakaba Road, Port Harcourt Road and the Moribund Shoe Industry all in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the State.

“Other roads of great importance are the Aba Road in Umuahia and Etiti Ama Nkporo in Ohafia Local Government Area,” he disclosed.

Responding on behalf of other members, chairman of the Committee and Commissioner for Works, Chief Ezichi Ubani thanked Governor ikpeazu for their appointment and asserted that the report from the committee would form a bedrock for Governor Ikpeazu to consolidate on in road construction.
