Plateau State Governor, Jonah David Jang has granted pardon to five convicted persons.
This was contained in a press statement signed by his Director of Press Affairs, James Mannok and made available to newsmen yesterday.
The statement said this was in exercise of the power conferred upon him under Section 212 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 after consultation with the State’s Advisory Council on prerogative of mercy.
He gave the names of the convicted persons as Lawrence Oguno , Joel Oguno , Jacob Kwakfwan, Mohammed Umar and Magaji Ibrahim.
The prerogative of mercy takes effect from May 25th, 2015, according to the statement.
