Governor of Plateau State, Hon. Simon Lalong, has described the election of Godwin Obaseki as the Governor-elect of Edo State as the resolved of the people of Edo to commit their future into the hands of the Progressive for positive development.
Governor Lalong stated this in his reaction to the declaration of Obaseki by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as the winner of the 28th September, 2016 gubernatorial election in a press statement signed by Emmanuel Nanle the director of Press and Public affairs to the governor.
The statement noted that the joy of democracy is for people’s wills always signifies the desire for positive change that brings about development and transformation of the society.
He urges the Governor-elect to follow the footsteps and the foundation laid by outgoing Governor Adams Oshiomhole who governed the people with sincerity of purpose and social engineering.
Governor Lalong while congratulating Chief Obaseki over his triumphed in the polls, pray God to give him the wisdom to govern the people aright.
He further enjoined the PDP candidate Ize-Iyamu and his supporters to accept the result as a confirmation of the resolved of the people of Edo State to remain a part of the change mantra in the country.
The governor however, added that the beauty of democracy is the latitude the PDP have within the provision of law to pursue justice for any perceive injustice in the conduct of the election adjust which largely to been credible, free and fair.
