Plateau state governor , Simon Lalong, yesterday said that human capital development for civil servant and young entrepreneurs in the state are key for improving efficiency and productivity within the system.
Gov Lalong stated this yesterday , during the flag off of the 5th phase of the National Industrial skills Development Programme organised by the Industrial Training Fund ITF at the centre for excellence Bukuru , Jos.
Represented by the Director General of the Plateau Microfiance Development Agency , Haggai Gutap , the governor said as a government ,This programme which you have designed to sharpen the skills of our youths is coming at the right time.
some of our cardinal objectives are to promote human capital development and promote entrepreneurship development and industrialisation in the state” “ we are aware that the benefits of this skills developments would efficiently and productively enhanced our workforce “and also generate Internally Generated Revenue IGR, we therefore call on If to further collaborate with the state government in the area of skills development of our teeming Youths , women and civil servants of the state ,
I wish to commend the ITF for keeping faith with the state in spite of several distractions , especially those related to few crisis we have witnessed , which regrettably prompted some corporate organisations to consider relocating from our state.

Speaking earlier , Acting Director General and Chief executive of the fund, Mr. Dickson C. Onuoha said the component is designed to equip young Nigerians with skills for employment and job creation.
Represented by the Director Revenue and Inspectorate and compliance Department Mrs. Lola Gbadamosi, said the programme which commenced on the 3rd of December 2012 has been going on in sequence phases in all the states of the federation and Abuja producing well trained artisans.
“Trainees were exposed to intensive technical and vocational skills for 3 months in different trade areas. Today we are witnessing the flag off of the fifth phase of the programme which shall be implemented simultaneously in 18 states and the F. C. T, and a total of 500 youths shall be trained per stats.
“In this phase of the programme, satellite centres have been selected in the 3 senatorial district of the state to provide training in carpentry and joinery; catering and baking and garment making”.
The director added that the fund is passionate and committed to conduct the NISDP with a high sense of responsibility and in accordance with the technical. And vocational training delivery standard and seeks the collaboration of stakeholders with ITF to enable the programme achieve its laudable objective.
Plateau state is specially chosen because of the warm and peaceful atmosphere the ITF is enjoying from the government and people of the state.
