Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, yesterday enjoined Christians to use the period of Easter to reflect on Jesus Christ sacrificial work of redemption on the Cross of Calvary.
Governor Lalong stated this his Easter message to Christians signed by Director of Press and Public Affairs, Emmauel Nanle and made available to journalists in Jos.
The message read in parts that “As Christians world over reflect on the passion of Christ on Good Friday and the victory of a righteous life over death at Easter. All these, the Governor said symbolizes the gracious and merciful atonement of the sins of mankind.
He noted that Christ became the sacrificial lamb so as to restore man back to God and to also redeem him from servitude of satan which he did in total obedience to God’s command.
Governor Lalong said true Christian practice must correspond in showing love and Sacrifice in order to make a difference in the lives of fellow human beings as exemplified by Jesus Christ, and he urged believers to copy this kind of God’s love.
He also called on Religious leaders in the country to preach messages of peace and love to their adherent in order to promote mutual coexistence in the society.
