Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Halima Wada, said the Hall of Fame award given to her husband for his achievements in agriculture will encourage him to do more for the people, adding that Governor Idris Wada deserves more recognition and award for his selfless service in the last three and half years.
In a statement signed by her media adviser, Abubakar Yusuf, and made available to journalists in Lokoja, she said her husband has embarked on genuine infrastructural and socio-economic development, political stability and humane policies.
She added that Wada’s achievements in the area of housing, tourism, hospitality, investment, health, education, welfare of civil servants and pensioners is verifiable for the people of the state and beyond to see and judge.
She therefore submitted that the recognition and award by the prestigious Hall of Grace, HOG, is a pointer to the people to vote for the re-election of Governor Wada on November 21 to ensure continuous development and progress of the state.
She said if the former Minister of Agriculture and now President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adeshina, has received much accolade from Nigerians for a job well done alongside Wada, then the award is justified.
Hajia Wada advised the opposition and its members to look elsewhere for their political jamboree and recklessness, saying the state has moved beyond the period of financial profligacy, cornering of public assets into private investments and paying for undeserved awards.
The statement eulogised Captain Wada for his deep love for the state, transparency and people centred leadership, saying his calm disposition toward the development of the state has endeared him to the people.
The Hall of Grace award was bestowed on the governor alongside the former governors of Ogun and Kano States, as well as the president, African Development Bank at the weekend in Lagos.
