Dr Samuel Ortom, the Govornor-elect for Benue, on Wednesday assured that he would take communities in the state into consideration in the distribution of political appointments.
This is contained in a press release by his Media Adviser, Mr Tahav Agerzua in Makurdi.
The statement said that Ortom gave the assurance while hosting some All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Kwande Local Government Area, Masev Development Association and Igede APC stakeholders from Obi and Oju Local Government Areas, at his residence.
It said that the governor-elect appreciated the contributions of each of the groups and communities towards his victory at the polls and promised not to forget them while putting people in political offices.
Ortom, a former Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment said he would hold a roundtable with stakeholders before making his appointments.
According to the statement, Mr Ngutor Anyam, leader of the Kwande stakeholders, had demanded for the position of the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and a commissioner’s slot for people from the area.
Anyam said that the area deserved appointments having performed well in the last general elections by winning all elective positions for the APC. (NAN)
