Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has reiterated his commitment to see to the actualization of the Abia International Industrial City, ABIIC, Project located at Osisioma. He made this pledge while receiving Development Partners of the Project and Management of ACROIDEATION International Limited, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Umuahia. He said the Project was significant in that, it was borne out of the need to establish key sectors of the economy of the State.
He added that the project would establish the foundation for the development of competitive domestic products for exports, thus launching the state into the rich field of global economy within time.
Governor Ikpeazu further said his government was ever ready to provide the enabling environment for business to thrive, as his government was desperate to develop the state.
The governor further stated that his government was looking for opportunities, windows and investors to unleash the state entrepreneurial Spirit, as the state has a lot to offer Nigeria and Africa; adding that ‘the state’s door is always open to businessmen who have ideas to help the state move forward’.
He encouraged the ACROIDEATION International Limited to move in as quickly as they can, “Our target from 2016 is that we will not allow Nigeria to import shoes for our military”. Abia State is producing shoes, and I would like to see shops in London, New York with made in Aba shoes on their shelves, the governor said.
He commended the initiative of ACROIDEATION to develop the 300 hectares Abia International Industrial City, ABIIC, and assured that government has provided an enabling environment to make the state an Investors haven.
Earlier, the President/CEO of ABIIC/ACROIDEATION INTL. Prince Uzoma Ohaja intimated the governor about the Abia International Industrial City, ABIIC, and that the project will gulp about N300 billion. He expressed happiness that the state government is committed to the project and informed the governor that the ABIIC project has gone beyond Abia State.
Prince Ohaja who just came into the country with his group from United State of America, noted that ABIIC and its developers, ACROIDEATION INT’L LTD has mounted campaigns at home and abroad to bring Nigerians in Diaspora to key into the project. Prince Ohaja said they were in Umuahia to seek the governors’ mandate to move forward, adding that investors are ready and funds are readily available.
The meeting was also attended by a representative of the Director General & Chief Executive officer of SMEDAN, Alhaji Bature Umar Masari, Head of SME STANBIC IBTC FCT MR Iheanocho Obi as well as community leaders from the host community.
